STI test: Test methods

Depending on the pathogen and the symptoms, various test methods may be considered, such as smear tests, urine or blood tests. 

Chlamydia as well as gonorrhea can be evidenced through a smear test or a urine test. The relevant pathogens are to be found within days after infection by means of laboratory tests. To date, no quick tests are used for the detection of these diseases.
